College Scholarships

Scholarship applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
 

The Educational Enrichment Foundation offers College Scholarships to graduating TUSD seniors! Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $4,200. The current cycle is for TUSD seniors who intend to graduate in May 2024 and who will be attending college in the fall of 2024.

 

Scholarship categories may have different requirements, please read each description prior to applying.

You will find the links to apply to the scholarships beneath their descriptions.

 

Each Scholarship Category Requires the Following:
 

  • Completed application and essay(s)

  • Letter(s) of recommendation from TUSD teachers or counselors

  • Transcripts

We recommend preparing your answers in a separate Word Document and having your Letter(s) of Recommendation and Transcripts ready when applying.

The Educational Enrichment Foundation offers multiple scholarship categories. Students may apply to multiple categories, as long as they meet the criteria of the scholarship. One application per category.

College Scholarships

ALL TUSD SENIORS:

 

Kenneth H. Paulin Memorial Scholarship: $1,000

The Kenneth H. Paulin Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) in memory of Kenneth H. Paulin, an innovative and much-revered Automotive Technology teacher at Palo Verde and Sahuaro High Schools. The scholarship may be used to attend an accredited public or private college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:
Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) high school students who intend to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to pursue studies related to automotive technology, transportation, alternative energy/fuels or related engineering fields at an accredited college, university, or trade school. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need.

We are looking for innovative students who clearly demonstrate a passion for learning and an aptitude for math, science, engineering, and/or the automotive arts.

Native American Legacy Scholarship: $2,000

The Native American Legacy Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) to a Native American female-identifying student who has been accepted to a college, university or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the college, university, or trade school and may be applied to tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses that make meeting educational goals easier. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024 and will be disbursed at the beginning of each semester ($1,000 in the fall/$1,000 in the spring). 

Who May Apply:
Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) graduating high school senior, female-identifying students of Native American descent who have been accepted to a college, university, or trade school, and intend to graduate high school in May 2024.

NATIVE AMERICAN LEGACY APPLICATION​: HERE

Velma Castaneda-Titone Memorial Scholarship: $500

The Velma Castaneda-Titone scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) in memory Velma Castaneda-Titone, the much-revered educator and retired principal of the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD). The scholarship may be used to purchase textbooks and other related books by a student attending an accredited public or private college or university. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:

TUSD High School female-identifying student of an ethnic minority who intends to graduate in May 2024 and pursue a degree in education, science, or math.  Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college or university.

Note: This scholarship is eligible for renewal for recipients who maintain a 3.0 GPA.

PUEBLO SENIORS ONLY:

​

Eduardo Nuñez Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 (Pueblo Only/Renewable)

The Eduardo Nuñez Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) in memory of Eduardo Nuñez, the much-revered TUSD Educator. A Pueblo High School graduate, Nuñez taught Spanish and coached tennis at Pueblo, Rincon and Sabino High Schools. During his 40 years with the district, he also served as an assistant principal. This is a scholarship for Pueblo High School graduates. The scholarship may be used to attend an accredited Arizona public or private college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:
Pueblo High School students in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intend to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited Arizona college, university, or trade school.

We are looking for students who have clearly demonstrated the desire and skill to succeed personally and academically, and who need financial support to attend college or a trade school.

Note: This scholarship is eligible for renewal.

James C. Stewart Scholarship: $1,000 (Pueblo Only/Renewable)

The James C. Stewart Scholarship is a $1,000 (renewable) scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) in memory of James C. Stewart. This scholarship is for Pueblo High School graduates. The scholarship may be used to attend an Arizona-accredited public or private college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:
Pueblo High School students in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intend to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college or university.

Jose Marquez Vail Award: $1,000 (Pueblo Only)

The Jose Marquez Vail Award is a $1,000 scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF). This is a scholarship for Pueblo High School graduates. The scholarships may be used to attend an accredited public or private Arizona college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:
Pueblo High School students in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intend to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited Arizona college, university, or trade school.

JOSE MARQUEZ VAIL APPLICATION: HERE

Ricardo P. Fernandez Scholarship: $500 (Pueblo Only)​

The Ricardo P. Fernandez Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded by the Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF), on behalf of Ricardo P. Fernandez, a dedicated community member and a Pueblo High School alumnus who graduated in 1984. The scholarship may be used to pursue a degree or advance certificate at an accredited public or private college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

 Who May Apply:
A Pueblo High School Hispanic senior in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intends to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree or advance certificate at an accredited college, university, or trade school. Applicants must have participated in at least one of the Pueblo High School Varsity Baseball/Softball, Varsity Basketball, or Varsity Football Teams and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or show an economic need in lieu of a 3.0 GPA.

Marjorie T. Benson Scholarship: $4,200 (Pueblo Only)

The Marjorie T. Benson Scholarship is a $4,200 scholarship ($1,200 for the first year and $1,000 for years 2 - 4) awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF). The scholarship may be used to attend an accredited public or private Arizona college, university, or trade school. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Who May Apply:
Pueblo High School students in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intend to graduate in May 2024.  Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited Arizona college, university, or trade school and pursuing a liberal arts degree.

SAHUARO SENIORS ONLY:

Edie Wingate Memorial: $500 (Sahuaro Only)

The Edie Wingate Memorial Scholarship is a $500 Scholarship awarded by The Educational Enrichment Foundation in memory of Edie Wingate, the much-revered Sahuaro High School American History teacher. The scholarship may be used to purchase textbooks and other related books by a student attending an accredited public or private college or university. Payment will be made directly to the institution and may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The funds will be available prior to the start of school in the fall of 2024.

Sahuaro High School students in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) who intend to graduate in May 2024. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited Arizona college, university, or trade school.
